DESCRIPTION

Croatina is often an undervalued grape variety, generally considered to only be able to produce simple and relatively crude wines. But in the hands of Daniele Ricci this grape is transformed into something completely different.  Having aged in large barrels for 24 months this wine gains great elegance and complexity, with notes of red fruit and balsamic vinegar. A fresh and well balanced wine with great length of taste.

PRODUCER

Ricci is a family owned and managed wine producer situated in the hills around Tortona, in Costa Vescovato to be precise. The Ricci family have been producing wine here since 1929 and since a large number of years they produce their wines in a complete organic and biologically-sustainable manner. All the wines that Daniele Ricci produces are truly remarkable products, but it is Timorasso wine, made of the Timorasso grape, that makes Ricci particularly unique. Timorrasso is a native local grape from this particular area which was rediscovered by Walter Massa a number of years ago and which has stimulated producers like Daniele Ricci to develop the Timorasso based wine(s) into a truly unique set of products.
